Best Filtered Cigars (2026): Every Brand Compared by Strength, Flavor and Price

Quick answer: if you want a full, rich smoke at a great price, start with our best seller, Smokin Joes Full Flavor, or Cheyenne Full Flavor. If you like it lighter, try Smokin Joes Smooth or Wrangler Light. For menthol, Cheyenne Menthol and Bella Green are popular picks. And if you just want the lowest price per carton, Smokin Joes and Beach Palm start at $16.99.

We have been selling filtered cigars online since the BuyDiscountCigars, Cigar Tiger and SmokersDiscounts days, and “which filtered cigar should I buy?” is still the question we hear most. This guide sorts every brand we carry by strength, flavor and price so you can find your smoke in a couple of minutes. Every carton below is 10 packs of 20 (200 filtered cigars), ships by USPS with tracking, and earns reward points on every order.

What is a filtered cigar?

A filtered cigar is a slim little cigar wrapped in tobacco leaf (or a paper made with tobacco) with a built-in filter tip. It comes in packs of 20 and smokes in a few minutes, so it fits a short break the way a premium cigar never could. The filter cools the draw and keeps the smoke smooth, and because the wrapper contains tobacco, filtered cigars are taxed as cigars. That is a big part of why they cost so much less per pack.

Filtered cigar brands compared

Best full-flavor filtered cigars

Full flavor (usually a red pack) is the boldest blend each brand makes. Smokin Joes Full Flavor is our best seller: bold, consistent and only $16.99 a carton. Smokin Joes was started in 1985 by Joe Anderson, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, and has made its tobacco on the Tuscarora Reservation in Niagara County, New York, since the 1990s. It is a long-running Native American maker, not a brand that is winding down. Cheyenne Full Flavor is another favorite, and Wrangler Full Flavor, Racer Full Flavor and Bella Red round out the list. If you are not sure, buy two different cartons and keep the one you like best as your usual.

Best light and mild filtered cigars

Lights go by many names: Light, Blue, Smooth, Gold or Mild. They use the same tobacco with a lighter draw. Try Wrangler Light (Blue), Bella Blue, Smokin Joes Smooth, Signal Smooth or GTO Gold. For the lightest draw we carry, look for “Silver” or “Ultra Light”: Wrangler Silver and Bella Silver.

Best menthol filtered cigars

Almost every brand makes a menthol (usually a green pack). Cheyenne Menthol is a popular pick, and Cheyenne Extreme Menthol is the one to try if you want more cool. Bella Green, Wrangler Menthol and Smokin Joes Menthol are all solid choices, and Cheyenne Sweet Mint is a sweeter take on menthol.

Best flavored filtered cigars

Cheyenne has the deepest flavor lineup by far: Grape, Peach, Strawberry, Wild Cherry, Vanilla, Tropical, Xotic Berry and Sweet Tip. For something different, BodyShot makes cocktail-inspired flavors like Whiskey, Rum & Cola and Mojito, and the BodyShot Sampler lets you try several in one carton. Smokin Joes Cherry and Vanilla, plus Signal Strawberry and Vanilla, cover the classics for less.

Switching from Richwood, Stampede or Seneca?

Richwood filtered cigars have not been produced since April 2026, and Stampede (made by the same company) is discontinued too. Seneca filtered cigars have also stopped production. You may still find some leftover stock, but once it is gone it is gone, so now is a good time to find a new usual. Our top pick for all three is Smokin Joes: Full Flavor for the red packs, Smooth for Gold or Light, and Menthol for the green packs, all at $16.99 a carton. Cheyenne is a great second choice, especially if you like a flavor.
